Seminole Track and Field Camp Staff 

​Our camp staff is composed of experienced college coaches, professional athletes, and accomplished college student athletes.  The Seminole Track and Field camps are designed to be compliant with NCAA rules and regulations.
Our camps are open to any and all applicants and limited only by age and the number of campers we can accommodate at each session. 

Coach Harlis Meaders- Throws - Florida State University

Harlis Meaders returns to the Seminoles for his second stint with Florida State University as an assistant coach who will work primarily with the throwers. During his 30-year collegiate coaching career, Meaders has coached. 200 + College Graduates 57 NCAA All‐Americans, 49 ACC Individual Championships, 28 years of coaching experience at the NCAA DI level, 17 ACC Team Championship, 5 NCAA Top 25 finishes, 3 NCAA National Team Championships at FSU 3 NCAA  Individual Champions, 2 Olympians, 1USA Track and Field Champion, 1 Rhodes Schola. Click to read more about Harlis Meaders (seminoles.com)

Coach Ricky Argo- Sprints -Florida State University 

Ricky Argo enters his seventh season as the men’s sprints and relays coach for the Seminoles and has been instrumental in the Noles’ recent success on the track. Over the past four-and-a-half seasons, his charges have piled up 38 All-American honors between the indoor and outdoor campaigns highlighted by 14 All-American honors in the 2021 season. and 18 ACC champions. The Noles captured their 13th ACC Outdoor title in May. The Seminoles’ sprinters made an impact at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships as sophomore Taylor Banks and junior JoVaughn Martin qualified for the 100m, with Martin placing fourth and earning First Team All-America honors.​Click to read more about ​Ricky Argro (seminoles.com

Coach Leevan Sands- Jumps -

Leevan Sands enters his second season as an assistant jumps coach for the FSU track and field program. Sands previously served as an assistant track & field coach at the University of Northern Colorado for two years. Coach Sands took the jumps squad to new heights during the 2022 season. In the outdoor season, Sands helped coach Jeremiah Davis and Isaac Grimes who finished second and third at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the long jump. Sands also helped Davis and Jacore Irving to qualify for the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships where Davis finished seventh. Before turning to coaching, Sands enjoyed a 13-year professional career that was highlighted by winning the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in the triple jump, while representing the Bahamas. ​Click to read more about Leevan Sands (seminoles.com)

Coach Abigi Id-Deen- Hurdles - University of South Florida

Abigi Id-Deen A veteran of nearly 20 years of experience who has coached a total of 45 All-Americans, Abigi Id-Deen is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the USF Track and Field program. He works primarily with the USF sprinters and hurdlers. The 2022 outdoor season concluded with Shaneylix Davila qualifying for the NCAA championships in the 100mh and Sanique Walker becoming no. 3 all-time in the 400mh hurdles while qualifying for the NCAA Championships as well. Both athletes reached all-conference honors in the 400mh. Coach Diego Vela- High Jumps- Jacksonville University

​Diego Vela enters his fifth season as Jacksonville University women's track and field assistant coach in 2018-19. The 2016 season saw the Dolphins reach unprecedented heights and sweep the indoor and outdoor ASUN Conference titles for the 11th-straight year. Up to that point the Dolphins had won every indoor title since the conference added the sport in 2006, while JU’s outdoor team holds the record for the most consecutive titles in ASUN history. In 2016, the duo of Kree Clark (weight throw, discus throw, hammer throw) and Stormm Phillips (triple jump) set four ASUN Championship records. David Pickett- Hurdles-Colgate University


​In Pickett’s first season with the Colgate, both track & field teams had stellar 2020-21 seasons. Both men’s and women’s teams finished second at both the Colgate Invitational and the Patriot League Pod Meet. Both teams had strong showings at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships with two athletes on the women’s team qualifying for the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Pickett joined the Colgate staff after a four-year stint at North Greenville, Pickett served as the director of sprints, hurdles, and jumps, While at North Greenville, Pickett helped guide his team to six national championship appearances, 17 Conference Carolina titles, 30 program records, and six conference records. Pickett’s 4x100 relay team in 2019 was the Division II National Runner-Up. He aided in the development of 53 All-Conference selections, five athletes to 14 NCAA qualifying marks, 13 All-American honors, four USTFCCCA All-Academic honors and two USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Athletes of the Year. Click to read more about Coach Pickett-Colgate

David Silversmith - Distance - Tulane University

“Coach Silversmith is a proven recruiter, leader, and the right fit for our program and its expectations for the future,” Tulane’s Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Adrian Myers said. “He understands what to look for in athletes as well as the necessary steps in developing them from good to great. He also understands the value of communication and that if you want to be a successful athlete, you must be willing to do the work and make the sacrifices necessary. So, putting the athlete in the driver’s seat to success and understanding that our team success is contingent on the collective. We were both Division II athletes that have coached at low resource programs prior, and as a result know that it’s the people that make successful programs. Recruit, retain, and develop elite people is our shared goal. In my time getting to know David over the past couple years and through this process it was very clear that he brings to the table many elements that we need to elevate our program to the top of the American, and to the NCAA stage. Hassan Stamps - 400 Hurdles -Warner University 

Coach Stamps comes to Lake Wales, Fla. after spending the last nine years in Johnson City, Tenn. with the ETSU Buccaneers Program. During his tenure, the Men’s and Women’s programs reached unprecedented heights. The Women’s program were runners in the Southern Conference Championships three times in the last two years. The performance of this year’s outdoor SOCON Championships was the best Overall Team finish and second, most points scored at the Outdoor Championship meet since 1996. The ETSU Men’s program won the Commissioners Cup as the Most Outstanding Men’s Athletic Program in the Southern Conference.  Stamps was the Domestic and International Recruiting Coordinator during his time at ETSU and changed the recruiting landscape during his tenure. ETSU Track and Field programs also enjoyed much success in the classroom highlighted by 18 straight semesters of above 3.0 GPA for the Men’s and Women’s programs. Bryan Hagopian- Pole Vault 

During the 2021 cross country season, Ivanova Yanes earned her second All-Sunshine State Conference First-Team recognition, following up receiving Freshman of the Year Honors, under the guidance of Hagopian. The Sharks qualified for the NCAA South Region Championship Meet, placing seventh. The 2017 track season became one of the most successful campaigns for Hagopian and his coaching staff gathering 16 national qualifiers, four participants, two All-Americans, a Peach Belt Conference Championship PBC Women’s Coach of the Year for the second year in a row and a PBC Men’s Field Athlete of the Year. Marquita Mines- Edward Waters University 

Marquita Mines is currently in her first year at Edward Waters University as the Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach. During her first indoor season, she had 13 top 8 finishers including an Indoor Conference Champions in the high jump, 2 3rd team all-conference, and 4 all-south region honors. During the outdoor season, she had 10 top 8 finishers including 2 3rd team all-conference. The first year also included 16 personal best performances. Prior to Roanoke College Marquita Mines spent five seasons with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore coaching staff (2017-21) as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, working with the sprinters, jumpers, and multi-event participants during the indoor and outdoor seasons, while also assisting cross country runners in the fall. While at Eastern Shore Mines have led several athletes to All MEAC and All-East honors. She also coached the 2018 MEAC Outdoor Conference Champion in the Javelin.
